As we said earlier, this is by no means a finished product. Given the rate at which SITech has developed over the last couple of years, it’s likely that this map will be out of date pretty soon! So look out for version two next year, and version three the year after, and so on….
We’re confident that the categories we’ve chosen reflect the industry now, and whilst some of the tools might straddle a few different ones, when you look closer, each has a dominant offering that fits nicely into one of these categories. We’re 99.99% certain though that, like the map itself, many of these will change over time: definitions might need to be corrected and new categories will have to be added. But evolution is a sign of a healthy industry, so we’re looking forward to seeing what comes over the next few years.
